Woodcliff Lake, N.J.—February 11, 2026. ALPINA, in close cooperation with BMW, proudly presents the first-ever BMW ALPINA B12 6.8 xDrive Sedan for the 2027 model year. Eclipsing the benchmarks set by the celebrated 2020 B7, the new twelve-cylinder flagship merges an all-new ALPINA V-12 with the advanced digital architecture, chassis systems, and comfort technologies of the latest BMW i7 M70—further refined in Buchloe—to deliver an unparalleled synthesis of performance, presence, and hand-crafted exclusivity.

Smooth performance, explosive power delivery.

The heart of the B12 is an all-aluminum, direct-injected 6,748 cc (6.75-liter) V-12 employing ALPINA-specific twin turbochargers with enlarged 56 mm turbine wheels, high-capacity intercoolers, and a dedicated low-temperature cooling circuit. Double-VANOS cam phasing and Valvetronic variable lift optimize response and efficiency. Peak output of 700 hp manifests at 5,400 rpm, while the plateau of 1,000 Nm extends from 1,500 to 5,000 rpm, endowing the sedan with relentless surge in every gear. Premium unleaded fuel (93 AKI / 98 RON) is required for full performance.

The ZF 8HP90 Sport Automatic, strengthened for the V-12’s torque, features ALPINA SWITCH-TRONIC buttons/paddles, and launch control calibrated for four-wheel traction. In Comfort, shifts melt away; in Sport+, upshifts under full load require barely 150 milliseconds without torque reduction.

A rear-biased xDrive algorithm and electronically controlled rear differential lock deliver neutral balance and assured grip, enabling 0-to-60 mph in 2.9 seconds, 0-to-100 km/h in 3.1 seconds, and an electronically governed 155 mph top speed†. The stainless-steel ALPINA quad-outlet exhaust, fitted with active valves, allows occupants to toggle between subdued elegance and a deep, unmistakable ALPINA timbre.

ALPINA sport suspension—agility without compromise.

The B12 employs a two-axle adaptive air suspension with ALPINA-specific springs, dampers, and software integration for Dynamic Damper Control, Active Comfort Drive with Road Preview, and 48-volt Active Roll Stabilization. BMW’s My Modes suite—Personal, Sport, Efficient, Relax, Expressive, Digital Art—allows comprehensive adjustment of steering, chassis, drivetrain, lighting, and display graphics. Ride height lowers automatically by 0.6 inches in Sport+ or above 140 mph, while a +0.8-inch lift function facilitates steep driveways up to 20 mph. Integral Active Steering angles the rear wheels up to 3.5 degrees opposite the fronts at low speed for remarkable manoeuvrability and turns in phase at high speed for secure stability.

Brake-by-wire hardware governs 420 mm front composite discs with four-piston monobloc calipers and 400 mm rear rotors with floating calipers. Regenerative cooperation with the 48-V electrical system assists deceleration and energy recuperation. Forged 23-inch ALPINA CLASSIC wheels (9.5 × 23 in front, 11 × 23 in rear) reduce unsprung mass and wear ALPINA-spec Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tires—275/30ZR23 and 315/25ZR23—each containing an acoustic foam layer to quell cavity noise. Optional 22-inch Dynamic wheels are available for clients favouring an alternate aesthetic.

Aerodynamic presence and elegant form.

At 212.6 inches long, 77.9 inches wide, and 58.7 inches high on a 126.6-inch wheelbase, the B12’s sculpted surfaces are honed to a drag coefficient of 0.30. A new ALPINA front spoiler channels airflow to the auxiliary coolers while reducing front-axle lift; a discreet lip spoiler, functional rear diffuser, and nearly-flat underbody ensure high-speed stability. Adaptive LED headlights are standard, while BMW Laserlight with Matrix high beam is optional. Iconic Glow illumination for the grille surround and Welcome/Goodbye light choreography reinforce the flagship’s contemporary identity.

Exclusive ALPINA Blue and ALPINA Green metallic paints headline a palette encompassing BMW Individual uni, metallic, frozen, and two-tone finishes, each hand-masked for crisp separation lines. Illuminated door handles, flush side glazing, and the panoramic Sky Lounge LED roof with programmable colour themes complete the exterior ensemble.

Hand-crafted luxury, digital intelligence.

Every B12 cabin is individually tailored in ALPINA LAVALINA full-grain leather, hand-stitched in Buchloe and available in virtually any hue, including bespoke bicolour and piped combinations. Customers may alternatively select BMW Individual full Merino leather in the complete colour catalogue. Standard piano lacquer trim with silver ALPINA pinstripes can be substituted by Myrtle Luxury Wood, Fineline Black, open-pore walnut, carbon fibre, or bespoke metallic inlays. An Alcantara headliner and deep-pile wool floor mats heighten tactile richness.

Multi-contour front seats provide twenty-four-way adjustment, memory, heating, cooling, and eight massage programmes. The Executive Lounge Seating package is standard: the right-rear seat reclines up to 42 degrees, extends a powered footrest, and integrates ventilation, heating, massage, and memory. Both rear occupants enjoy heated/cooled armrests, mattress-soft pillows, and electrically deployable footrests. Four-zone climate control with nanoparticle filtration, ionisation, and programmable fragrance maintains a perfect micro-climate.

Immersive infotainment and theatre-class entertainment.

An ALPINA-specific twelve-point-three-inch instrument cluster in blue and white features analog-style needles, power-reserve and boost gauges, and a signature ALPINA start-up animation. Adjacent, the curved fourteen-point-nine-inch OLED Control Display delivers iDrive 8.5 functionality, complemented by the crystalline BMW Interaction Bar traversing the dashboard and doors. A full-colour twelve-inch Head-Up Display projects augmented-reality navigation, assist alerts, and performance data.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot, multiple USB-C and USB-A ports, 12-V and 110-V sockets, and Remote Software Upgrade capability assure future-proof connectivity. Standard Harman Kardon Surround Sound (16 speakers, 655 W) may be upgraded to a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround System (36 speakers, 1,965 W, four-dimensional seat shakers, illuminated grilles, selectable sound modes).

Rear passengers command a 31-inch 8K BMW Theatre Screen with Amazon Fire TV and HDMI input, operable via touch or remote. Dual ten-inch touch displays mounted in the front seatbacks allow individual media selection, and a removable seven-inch BMW Touch Command tablet governs seating, climate, lighting, and audio functions. The Executive Rear Console integrates heated/ventilated cup-holders, wireless charging, and an optional refrigerator.

Acoustic serenity.

An extensive package of laminated acoustic glass (windshield, side, and rear), revised B-pillar insulation, triple-sealed doors, foam-filled A-pillars, and the cavity-damping tyre technology mitigates wind, road, and drivetrain noise. Engine mounts featuring ALPINA frequency-selective elastomers further suppress drivetrain vibration at idle, while the exhaust’s active valves permit hushed late-night arrivals.

Comprehensive driver assistance.

BMW Live Cockpit Professional with ALPINA graphics integrates the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, BMW Maps cloud-based navigation, Drive Recorder dash-cam (360-degree, up to 60 minutes), and BMW Digital Key Plus using ultra-wideband to turn iPhone or Android devices into secure vehicle keys.

Parking Assistant Professional autonomously executes parallel or perpendicular parking and records complex forward manoeuvres up to 200 metres for automatic reversal. Remote 3D View streams a live feed of the car’s surroundings to the owner’s smartphone.

Driving Assistance Professional comprises Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Keeping Assistant, Lane Change Assistant (with driver confirmation), Emergency Stop Assistant, Evasion Aid, Cross-Traffic Alert, Wrong-Way Warning, Speed Limit Info, and Extended Traffic Jam Assistant allowing hands-free driving on divided highways at speeds up to 40 mph. Night Vision with pedestrian and animal recognition, headlight marker light, and proactive illumination enhances safety after dark.

A rigid Carbon Core/steel/aluminium passenger cell, multi-stage front, side, curtain, rear, and knee airbags, ISOFIX/LATCH anchorages, active pedestrian protection, and pre-collision pretensioners complete the safety envelope.

Extensive standard equipment.

Standard features include two-axle adaptive air suspension with Road Preview, 48-V Active Roll Stabilization, rear-axle steering (Integral Active Steering), soft-close automatic doors and Comfort Access with proximity unlock, panoramic Sky Lounge LED roof, programmable power trunk lid with kick activation, heated/ventilated front and rear cup-holders, multiple wireless charging pads (front and rear), rain-sensing wipers, heated/auto-dimming/power-fold mirrors, sixteen-colour ambient lighting with Welcome/Goodbye signature, and Personal Profiles with BMW ConnectedDrive Services.

Options and packages.

Although comprehensively equipped, the B12 allows further personalisation through the ALPINA Atelier programme (bespoke exterior colours, pinstripes, illuminated sills, embroidery, build-sequence plaque), BMW Individual two-tone paintwork (hand-masked, mirror-finished), Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound (36 speakers), BMW Laserlight with Matrix high beam, Night Vision with pedestrian/animal detection, 22-inch ALPINA Dynamic forged wheels with corresponding Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tyres, luxury rear floor mats in deep-pile virgin wool, and rear refrigerator integrated into the Executive Rear Console.

BMW iDrive 8.5 Operating System—digital, intelligent, connected.

iDrive 8.5’s tile-based interface allows up to ten customizable pages, each hosting live widgets for navigation, media, vehicle data, and climate functions. Natural-language voice recognition responds to “Hey BMW,” learns driver preferences, and can execute complex commands (e.g., “Take me to the closest ALPINA retailer and set the cabin to 72 degrees”). Over-the-air updates keep mapping, apps, and control units current. BMW ConnectedDrive Upgrades can activate future capabilities such as additional My Modes graphics or new driver-assistance features without dealership visits.

Connected Navigation integrates Real-Time Traffic Information, e-horizon predictive speed control, and Automatic Parking Search, which suggests garages or on-street spaces near the destination. Remote services via the My BMW App permit cabin pre-conditioning, vehicle locate, Remote Engine Start, and Remote Software Upgrade scheduling.

Back-Up Assistant: unique convenience in confined spaces.

The standard Back-Up Assistant remembers the last 200 metres of forward travel below 22 mph and can automatically steer the vehicle in reverse along the identical path—an invaluable aid in narrow driveways or multi-storey car-park ramps. Combined with Panorama View and 3D Top View, the system provides 360-degree situational awareness.
